Discover the evolving healthcare landscape in South Africa during a business delegation, coorganized by Switzerland Global Enterprise, the Swiss Business Hub Southern Africa and the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services.
The country's healthcare sector is undergoing significant changes, creating opportunities and challenges in the medical devices and health technology market. With a quadruple disease burden and disparities between the private and public sectors, innovative solutions are needed. The proposed National Health Insurance (NHI) programme aims to achieve universal healthcare coverage, offering potential advantages and better access to healthcare services. This business trip provides a unique opportunity to understand the South African healthcare market and explore the Medtech industry dynamics.
Scheduled for 16-20 October 2023, the trip includes networking opportunities, company visits, and entrance to the Africa Health Conference, the largest healthcare fair in the region, as well as receptions hosted by the Swiss Ambassador to South Africa and the Swiss General Consul in Cape Town. The delegation will go to Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town, providing participants with a comprehensive overview of the South African Medtech sector. Special break-out sessions are planned for CCIG participants with interests broader than Medtech (refer to programme below).
